Chapter Ten

“yes, they are beautiful” I answered staring at her

I can’t help but stare at her, even though all I can see is a side view, still .. Beautiful
I removed my eyes from her when I realized something

‘why the hell am I staring at her?’ I shook my head, I’m getting crazy!
I looked up in the sky

I’m actually staring on blank air, thinking of .. hmm, now that I mention it, I’m just randomly thinking.

“you know what?” she suddenly asked, I looked at her, and she looked at me too
“what?” I said

she smiled, but she’s not happy

“I always ask Chis-- well I always, always! ask him to go on a trip to the province with me, cause I want to see the clear sky. away from the city lights, away from the city pollution, away from everything, I just want to be lying under the sky with the stars shinning bright.. ironic, cause when we broke up, that‘s the only time I get to see this” then she gestured her hands towards the sky

“I also want to see a meteor shower, but I guess that won‘t be happening tonight. but if I could just see a meteor, even if it‘s just one meteor, I‘ll take it. call me childish, but I guess that‘s my ticket, by wishing to it” she paused

“that, if I could get my parents back here with me” she continued
I looked at her, so she don’t have her parents with her anymore?

I saw a tear from her, then she slightly laughed and then wiped it

“Christian always tell me that it won‘t happen and it will never happen even in a million years, I know. but there‘s no harm in wishing right? I mean, what if the sky get crazy and grant it? I can’t take the chance of loosing it.” she said wiping every tear falling down from her eyes

“anyway, how about you? if you would wish, what would it be?” she said smiling at me
“me?” I asked, then I looked up

what would I wish?

“I would wish.. for.. ”
“no wait! don‘t tell me, it might not be granted if you would tell me, so don‘t” then she smiled

she always flash a smile, but I can see in her eyes that she’s not that happy
now, I can prove that ‘the smile is one of the greatest mask of a broken heart’
and she is the perfect sample of it.

the next morning, she tried to woke me up early, cause they say that it’s a seven hour trip to Malaysia via bus, but I woke up late.. and she was kind of, mad a little?

anyway, “inaantok naman ako dude!! pano ako mag sasight seeing neto?”
I heard her saying while were on the bus, it’s already 9am
and by the way, the only thing I understand in her sentence is ‘dude’ and ‘sight seeing’

after that, she took out her earplugs and putted them on
she leaned her head on the window then closed her eyes, does she mean in her sentence that she wants to sleep?

anyway what else should I do? I also putted on my earplugs, then took some shuteye

I was drifting in my dreams when something slapped me back to consciousness
I opened my eyes only to see Lailah leaning on my shoulder, sleeping

I smiled then get back to sleep


Her POV

naalimpungatan ako nung naramdaman kong hindi na gumagalaw yung bus
pagdilat ko, nagulat ako nung nakasandal na ako kay Pedro, OMG! nakakahiya!
agad ko ding kinapa bibig ko, baka naglaway ako, lalong nakakahiya! pero buti naman at wala

tinawagan ko si Mitchie kanina bago kami umalis, sabi ko kung pwede ba ako magsama ng bisita
okay lang naman daw sa kanya, kaya eto nga at papunta kaming Malaysia

“Pedro” gising ko sa katabi ko saka ko sya niyugyog
“hmm?”
“the bus stopped” sabi ko
“are we there yet?” tanong nya habang nakapikit
“no, not yet I guess, we‘re here to eat” sagot ko, idinilat nya yung isa nyang mata
“are you hungry?”
“mmm, are you?” tanong ko naman sa kanya, kasi ako ewan, parang hindi na oo
“let‘s go then” sabi nya saka umayos ng upo

bumaba kami, saka humanap ng makakainan
sabi ko take out na lang, sa bus na lang kami kumain, baka kasi maiwan kami
mukhang kanina pa kasi naka stop eh

after 4 more hours

“Pedro! Pedro! wake up, we‘re here!” gising ko sa kanya

“Mitchiiiiiiiiieeeeeee!!” sigaw ko nung makita ko yung kaibigan ko
sinalubong nila kami dito sa bus station

“mom, dad, this is --”
“Lailah” pakilala ko sa sarili ko
di pwede masabi ni Mitchie ang pangalan kong Jamie.. di pwede malaman ni Pedro, ayoko
nakita kong napataas yung kilay ni Mitchie sa pagpapakilala ko sa magulang nya

“umm, and this is Peter” pakilala ko kay Pedro, ayaw ko naman sya ipakilala na ‘Pedro’, hello nasa Malaysia kami, ang awkward naman kung ganun ko ipapakilala ang isang Aussie..

“okay! so let‘s go now? you two have to rest, tomorrow will be a memorable day for me” sabi ni Mitchie

eto unang araw naming sa Malaysia, yung pangalawa kasal nila, tapos yung pangatlo?
ewan, gagala na lang kami ni Pedro kung saan

oo nga pala, pangatlong araw na to na magkasama kami
saglit pa lang, pero parang napaka close na naming dalawa

“Jamie, why did you introduce yourself to my parents as Lailah?” tanong ni Mitchie

andito kami ngayon sa kusina, nagluluto ng hapunan

“well, I guess it‘s our deal.. Peter is not his name either” sabi ko
“but why? I mean --”
“I don‘t know, it‘s kind of a game I guess?”
“a game?”
“yeah, hmm, we won‘t tell each other‘s name”
“I don‘t get it, why?”
“I don‘t know either” kahit alam ko naman talaga kung bakit.
ayoko lang sabihin kay Mitchie, weird kasi ng reason ko

“anyway, let‘s not talk about that anymore. let‘s get this food to them. I know they‘re hungry” dagdag ko

“just make sure you won‘t lose to your own game Jamie” naring kong sabi ni Mitchie, haaayyy

“here‘s the food” sabi ni Mitchie
“Peter! you should try this, it‘s a Malaysian specialty” sabi nung mama ni Mitchie
“really? okay”

“you cooked this Mitchie? it‘s delicious!” sabi ni Pedro
“uhh, no. I helped .. Lailah, she‘s the one who cooked it” sagot naman ni Mitchie
“well, it‘s good” sabi nya sabay ngiti saken
“I just --”

“if you like it, why don‘t you ask your wife to always cook it for you? we‘ll give you the ingredients you'll need” sabi nung mama ni Mitchie

“wife?!” sabay naming sabi ni Pedro, tapos nagkatinginan pa kami
“no! no!! she‘s not my wife!”
“yeah, I‘m not his wife!” dagdag ko naman

ngumiti yung mama tsaka papa ni Mitchie

“you don‘t need to deny it!” sabi ni tita

oh dear!! hindi naman po talaga kami eh T_______T
he’s just a Stranger I met at the Bridge!

pagkatapos kumain pinapunta na nila kami sa kwarto namin, at oo sa iisang kwarto na naman

nasa labas si Pedro, dun sa parang veranda ng kwarto? yun

“Lailah, can I use your phone to make a long distance call?” tanong nya bigla saka lumapit saken
“huh? okay, sure”
“thanks” tapos lumabas uli sya dun

“hello Jes --” narinig kong sabi nya, kaso naputol tapos dismayado yung itsura nya
bumalik sya tapos ibinalik yung cell phone ko saka nagmukmok uli dun sa veranda

sumunod ako sa kanya
“what happened?” tanong ko
umiling sya tapos bumuntong hininga saka yumuko
hindi kami close na as in alam ko meaning ng lahat ng kilos nya
pero kung ako ang tatanungin, halatang may problema sya, ayokong manghimasok, pero ano kaya yun?

“are you sure?” tanong ko ulit, tapos tumingin sya saken

natagalan ba update? o hindi naman?

basta ayun! may update.. haha

sino po yung nagsabing nabasag ko pagiging silent reader nya? wahaha \m/ astig!

at salamat sa mga nag comment pang iba.. waaaaaaaa ansaya saya lang.. haha

bibilisan ko na talaga tong FF na to.. di sila pwede magabot nung case study ko, baka madeads ako.. haha

sa next chapter malalaman nyo na back ground ni Pedro/Damon.. hindi nyo pa sya kilala talaga diba? ^_^
