Chapter Thirteen

His POV

I have a surprise for Lailah later tonight, I just have to kill the time, and it’s all good to go
I hope she likes it, it’s a bit hard to do especially in a short span of time, but I managed
after all, money talked with this one

“why are you smiling? you‘re creeping me out” she said
“I‘m not smiling” I said, but I’m smirking
“really? then what do you call that curve on you lips?”
“a smirk?!” I said then I took a glance from her, she laughed. a music to my ears

after that, we became quiet again

“I‘m tired!” she said while stretching and yawning
“let‘s go back to Singapore” I said
“what?!” she said in a questioning tone
“I said, let‘s go back to Singapore”
“why?”
“I will be departing after two days, I just want to relax there, besides I‘m more familiarized there than here”

“okay, we‘ll go now?”
“yup, we‘ll just take a quick stop at Mitchie‘s house to bid goodbye”


“bye Mitchie! thanks for everything!!” she said while waving her hands out the window as we drove away from Mitchie’s family

“I can‘t believe I only got two days left to stay abroad, then I‘ll be all stressed out again” she said with closed eyes

“why don‘t you come with me in Australia?” I asked
she abruptly opened her eyes then looked at me

“are you serious?” she said leaning to see my reaction
“yes, and don‘t disturb me, I‘m driving”
“sorry -- but --”
“it‘s okay if you don‘t want to, I‘m only suggesting anyway”
“ooohh!” she said nodding

“maybe next time” she said in a low voice that kinda disappoint me for some reason

“hey, I‘ll take a nap, I‘m kinda sleepy so --” yawn
“okay”

she leaned on the windowpane

why do I have this strange feeling?
why does it feel like --
nah! I don’t know myself anymore!

for goodness sake, I’m Damon! one of those chick magnet back at Australia, a dumper, I’m not a sweet kind of guy, but why am I doing all this, not even with Jestine that I did this? urgh! frustrating!

we’re almost back at Singapore, just a few more minutes and we’re there
I can’t help myself but feel nervous, well .. I don’t know actually what am I nervous about but.. yeah

“Lailah?” I slightly tapped her shoulder to wake her up, she’s been sleeping the whole trip! -_-
“hmm? -- ooww! my neck!” she said while opening her eyes

go figure, who wouldn’t have a stiff neck for sleeping on the same position for how many hours?

anyway ..

“where are we?” she asked
“Marina‘s bridge”
she looked around

“what are we doing here? what time is it?”
“pass 9 o‘clock”
“really? how long did I slept?”
“the whole trip”
“aw, sorry”
“no, it‘s okay”

“why are we here exactly?”
“here” I handed her a floating lantern, the one that you lit at the bottom? then you’ll set it out to the sky? that one

she just looked at me, with that questioning look on her face

“what am I suppose to do with this?” she asked
“well” I paused, then I looked around

“you‘ll lit it, and let it fly to the sky”
“then?”
“you wish to it”
she smiled, I guess she now knows what I’m trying to do

“here” I handed her a lighter
I held the upper part so she can lit the bottom

“it‘s ready” she said smiling
“are you ready?” I asked
“yes” she answered
“make a wish then”

she closed her eyes
after a minute she opened it

we both let go of the lantern
we’re looking at it as it goes up

“now close your eyes again”
“why?”
“just do it” I said, she followed

after a few minutes ..

“now open it, and look up”
“are you playing games with --”

“.. you did this?” she asked with teary eyes
I just nodded

“why did you do this?” she asked still smiling and I guess what I just saw is a tear of joy

“well, you said that you want to see a meteor shower, but I can’t do that so I thought of another way”

“thank you” she said, then she hugged me

I’ve got this damn feeling, I can’t understand!!

then.. it all follows

I kissed her.. I.. felt that it was the right thing to do.
she looked at me, and .. I don’t know, I can’t read her, was I the only one who felt that it was right?

we went back to the car and I started driving

awkward silence ..

“thank you again by the way” she said
“it was nothing” I answered back

another silence between us and it’s killing me inside!!

“Pedro --”
I stopped the car, I want to straight things out

“lets talk” I said
“okay .. we agreed that we will always talk things out, so ..” she paused
“do you like me?” she asked after

I became quiet, I don’t know what to answer .. but

“I don‘t know what is this feeling, just to be honest”
“thank you for answering honestly, but ..”
“but what?”
“I think I need to go back to Malaysia”
“what?! why?!”
“I didn‘t get to spend much time with Mitchie” she said with a cold voice
“why are you doing this to me Lailah?!” that stupid sh*t of sentence fumed me up
“I don‘t know!! I don‘t understand either!” she said then she attempted to open her side of the door
“don‘t you dare get out of this car” I warned her
“what do you want me to do?!” she yelled

I can’t take it!! damn! why is she doing this?! and why am I feeling this?!

“I‘m the one who‘s getting out of this car” I said then went out of the car

“Pedro!!” I heard her yell to me, but I didn’t look back instead I continued walking
“Pedro!!!!!” I heard her again, and now I think she’s crying

I walked still, away from her but then I stopped, what the hell am I doing here?
I turned to look back, I saw a light from a car.. but it passed me, I guess it’s not her
stupid me!! I run .. I run back to her .. I’m seeing the car, but there’s no one there anymore!

“Lailah!!” I yelled as I look from left to right, sh*t! I’m so stupid!!

o ayan! kinilig kayo sa umpisa pero bigla ko kayong pinalagapak pagdating ng huli e noh? haha alam ko, hayuff ako.. xD

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, gagawin ko na yung last chapter (chapter 14) yun na yung ending.. bilis ba? kailangan po eh.. haha, masyado na akong nagiging busy kaya hindi ko na magagawang harapin itong FF ko as much as possible.. kaya ayun, tatapusin ko na lang.. ayoko naman kasi iwan din to na nakahang lang.. (kahit cliffhanger ang ending, haha)

mmm, balak ko sa ending hatiin sa 2parts.. wag po masyadong iexpect na mahaba ang ending na tulad ng Ace of Hearts, no no no no.. hindi sya ganun.. haha parang isang chapter lang sya na mas mahaba ng konti?? basta ganun! hahatiin ko po.. haha kasi nasa isang part ang.. dendenen.. twist.. xD super bitin ang ending alam ko.. at siguradong papatayin nyo ako sa mga katakot takot nyong comments.. haha pero wala po, ganun talaga.. mahalin nyo na lang ako sa mga comments nyo.. lol

salamat sa paghihintay at pagsupport sa FF ko na to.. :)
ito ang pinaka maikli sa apat na gawa ko.. haha, pero full length na tong matatawag.. xD

ayun.. tama na, bored na magbasa yung iba.. haha

maraming salamat pala sa mga silent reader na nabasag ang pagiging silent.. haha, dahil sa inyo napatunayn ko sa sarili ko na kahit papano e magaling pala talaga ako.. haha xD
