Chapter Eight

“well you answered his call, if you didn‘t I wouldn‘t know what exactly he was thinking of me.. I mean --” then her eyes are stating to be teary again

“okay stop, I get it, don‘t cry anymore” I said
she just nodded then get back to what she was doing

I was looking outside the window when I heard a door clicking
when I turned to see if she’s done

“hmm?” that simple noise that she made, slapped me back to reality
“I umm, uhh, lets go?” I asked, damn this hormones!!
she’s wearing a black see-through blouse and a jeans. as in I can see her freaking curves, flawless flesh. damn this!!

“uhm, Lailah, you sure you‘re gonna wear that outfit out there?” I nervously asked
“yep” she simply said, then she used her shades to run up her hair

as we go outside, we both put our shades on
but even if I’m wearing a shade, I can still see how people look at her, and I’m freaking hating it!

“hey” I called her attention
she faced me immediately

“what?” she asked
without any word I grabbed her hand then pulled her  to the nearest bus stop

“hey, where are we going?”
I just looked at her, I hate it! I can’t tell her directly what I want to do.. urgh!

“what the?!” she said when I pushed her inside the bus
“hey! tell me where we‘re going!”
I looked at her, a bit irritated, then she shut up

now, here we are at Orchard street, the shopping street of Singapore
and now she’s standing in front of me with a questioning look

I grabbed her hand again then pulled her to a boutique

“aray ha! kanina mo pa ako kinakaladkad, bad trip ka!”
“get inside” I commanded her
she looked at the store we’re standing in front of

“what are we doing here?” she asked
“aish! just get inside!”
“answer me why?!”
“because!!”
“because what?!”
“people are looking at you, wearing that .. that .. urgh!! that see-through blouse of yours!”
“and so?!” she asked raising her eyebrow
“I hate it when people, mostly guys, checking you out! so change clothes!”
she was startled

I looked away from her
“I don‘t want to be roaming around Singapore with an eye catcher, I‘m a private guy you know”
“huh, what?!” she asked in a laughing way
“just go!”

“okay, okay!” she said raising her hands, as if surrendering to the police

after 30mins, she finally picked out a fitted shirt, still showing her curves.. oh shit!

“can‘t you get a descent clothes?!”
“what do you want me to wear?! my gosh! do you want me to look like a nun?!”
“if possible” I whispered
“what?
“nothing” then I scanned her from head to toe

“okay, let‘s go” I said
“where?” she asked

I stopped in front of another boutique
“wait here”

after 5mins, I went out of the store

she was controlling her laugh when she saw me
“what?!” I asked
“why are you wearing a same printed shirt as me??” she burst out a laugh
“you look gay!!” she continued
I smiled, I guess she’s back now, the Lailah that I‘ve met, the bubbly one

I threw in a jacket, even if it’s fridgin hot here, I don’t want to be seen wearing a same shirt as this girl
I still have my pride you know

she was still laughing when we get back to the bus station, but ..

“Dude!!” I heard a familiar voice, and that made Lailah and me looked at the one calling
“Arnold?! what are you doing here?!”
“whoa! we‘re here to pick you up, why do you sound surprised?”
“hell yeah I am! how did you guys find me?”
“well, this is accidental actually, we‘re only shopping here, but since we found you already, let‘s go!”
“huh?” I asked, looking at Lailah, she was smiling but I can see in her eyes that, she’s not happy

“ooohhh” I heard Arnold
“and you are, Miss?” he asked
“umm, I‘m ..” she looked at me
“yes?”
“Lailah” she answered
“nice name, I‘m Arnold by the way”
“nice meeting you” she said, then she looked at me

“I‘ll leave you two, to talk, ‘kay? we‘ll be waiting for you over there Dude” said Arnold
is this goodbye already??
I don’t feel like it yet!

I run my fingers through my hair, I can’t think of any words to say
“mmm, guess this is goodbye huh?” she started
“I guess so, so.. nice meeting you?”
“ne, nice not meeting you, remember, we don‘t know each others name?”
“oh right” then I offered my hand, she shook it

then I went to my friends
last look at her, I saw her waving a hand on me, so I waved back and smiled at her

we’re already on the road to airport, today, we’re departing for Hong Kong
I was looking outside, not minding my friends yelling and doing crazy stuffs
until Carlos took my attention

“Damon! you missed one hell of a night dude, we were at Sentosa beach the night you left us, we partied like freaks!! there was this fireworks show before the party and it was awesome! you missed it, then after partying, we headed to Malaysia, and maaaan --”

“hey stop the car!!” I yelled
they are all flabbergasted on what I did
“whoa?! what happened to you?”

Her POV


“Lailah!! Lailah!!” narinig kong tawag, kanina pa ako naglalakad pero imposible akong magkamali, si Pedro yung naririnig kong tumatawag saken

lumingon ako sa likod ko at nakita ko nga syang tumatakbo palapit saken

“hey, why are you here??” tanong ko nung nakalapit na sya
hinihingal sya kaya hinayaan ko muna syang makapag pahinga saglit

“did you forgot something?” tanong ko
umiling sya

“then what are you doing here?” tanong ko ulit
“I didn‘t go with them to Hong Kong”
“huh? but why?”
“I want to stay here for a while, and be with you having a tour” sabi nya
“aa- why?” wala akong ibang masabi, kakaiba kasi yung dating nung sinabi nya
“I just want to” sabi naman nya
“but, I‘m going to Malaysia tomorrow”
“then it‘s the perfect day to go to Malaysia with you, well if it‘s okay I mean”
“yeah, sure” sagot ko sabay ngiti

ang gaan ng pakiramdam ko sa kanya
parang, part of me trust him so much

“oh by the way, later let‘s go out, around 7:30 okay?”
“hmm?”
“I said --”
“yeah, I heard you but why?”
“it‘s a surprise, okay?” sabi nyang naka ngiti
“okay?” sabi kong medyo alangan

saan naman ako dadalhin ng Aussie na to?
at parang kabisado nya ang Singapore kung mag-aya ha?!
bahala na nga, last day na namin to dito ngayon
pupunta na kaming Malaysia bukas, para maghintay sa kasal ng kaibigan ko
ano na naman kaya mangyayari sa loob ng tatlong araw?
